If the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, where does the rain in Houston fall...?

I hope that it gives out earlier than they say, this looks devastating already. Best of luck to you Scott.

Thank you Judy, and I agree. I'm ready to be done now.

I am also hoping and praying for the best Scott. Just awful what so many people are going through. I've never seen either a hurricane that's static! WTF!!:(

I saw images and interviews on TV. This is terrible for those who lost their homes, not to mention the dead.

Thank you Alain. We've been very fortunate to have been spared damage to our home, but have many close friends that have not. It's still raining hard in Houston, so I fear that the water levels are still on the way up.

Scott, glad to know you are OK. We are safe too and spared from flooding, yet. Just checked out Horsepen Creek which runs through our neighborhood, a few feet from overflowing. Saw a guy fishing by the bridge while most of Houston suffers!

Glad to know you are as well, Hoe. Perhaps the guy was catching fish for the needy. If there's anything I can do to help you or your family, please let me know.

It makes sense that a good geologist would own a home on high ground if he lived in a flood zone!

Your wife picked the house, didn't she?

:D

Yes - she is a geologist too. And when she picked it she did just what I would have done. She pulled out the 100 year flood maps first thing, LOL.

Still pouring down rain, btw. And it's starting to get windy as the storm gets closer.

This happened to me a few years back, woke up to my car halfway underwater, almost to the house. Least I got a new car out of it
