This was a thick stalk growing up the side of an old walnut tree in a local park. I cut it off early this spring, and let the holdfasts become roots in a pot -- the only deepish one I could find at the time. It seems to want to be a weeping form. But we'll see.

It may have to go off in the yard somewhere next spring to see if I can fatten the trunk at all. I do't know if it is even possible on a plant that grows like ivy does. Since I really don't want ivy growing up my walls or trees, it will have to be isolated somewhere.

I'd like to see other ivy bonsai. I know it is regularly done.

TNX. I get to Durham every so often -- was there last week for a couple of Bulls' games.
