Longest branch removed
Trunk at 3 inches under the soil
Going for free grow one more year.

Root above round was removed, left in the image for the viewer to
indentify the pine.

Soil - 5 mm silica based gravel
1/3 aged compost
earthenware pot [ porous ]
Fertiliser given until it drips out the bottom hole - 12 N [ Miracle Gro lawn fertiliser
1/3 strength ] once Weekly

Placement full sun

Very nice! It is coincident that I have also used orchid pots for my JBP and KBP seedlings with good results.
How old is your tree and how long did it stay in this pot? Thanks

not sure anymore, maybe 6 years, there may be a record
on bnut sometime ago, but I don't take notes on posts
made on Bnut..

It maybe 3 years in the pot,

Just following what was read in Bonsai Today 12.
Had to make up the rule on the fertiliser as the author never
said how much fertiliser he used.

@Anthony , I give my plants Miracle Gro 1/2 to full, is this too much risk?

I don't know.

Too much fertilliser can encourage sappy shoots that insects love.
Have you had any of those problems ?

I have never seen JBP in Pakistan. But if it survived in your USDA zone of 13, I guess it will grow in mine zone 9b. What you say should i give it a try ?. We have long intense summer with short mild winters. Plus monsoon and spring as well.
