Is it ok to leave wire on a Larch over the winter? I heard that could be a problem...that they don't like it. Help appreciated!

You could always wire a branch or two (that are not important to its future - just in case) and see how it works out. Personally I would do this even if I believed in the myth.

I do it in late winter and never had a problem.
Be aware they can thicken really fast so do check wiring often in spring and summer.

No problem - I do it all the time. Larch are one of the better ones when it comes to "accepting" being wired.

Yea I've never heard of larch being finicky about wiring.
