Las Vegas...

It's all about the shell. I have a 12 gauge semi-automatic. I can fire bird loads all day long. Buckshot is a little harder on the shoulder but still doable with just a t-shirt. I don't like firing slugs unless I am wearing at least a sweatshirt. And these are the 2 3/4" standard shells not the 3" magnums.

Compared to a 12 gauge, a 5.56mm rifle feels like a pellet gun.
Which shell should I get for the coming civil war? I'm thinking a mix... bird shot for small game hunting and close quarter in home defense, and buck shot for deer season and interlopers stalled on my steep driveway??:D

I'm not a civil war believer. First, I don't think people are in any agreement about "what is wrong" and "how to fix it" - ask any 100 people on the street and you will get 100 different answers to both questions. Second, I don't think, when push comes to shove, that people really believe their lives here suck that bad... even with all the annoyances. If people have time to hang out on Internet forums and talk about bonsai... their lives don't suck. I am greatly annoyed by government, electrical utilities, my cable company, our public schools, the water district... the list goes on and on. But my life does NOT suck.

Pretty crazy to compare these two countries.
I was more intrigued by the"required to" part....I don't think that's true, but it's an interesting thought.
If everyone was packing heat, and being a well trained marksman was just a normal part of everyday life....there would be less accidental shootings, and less crime as a whole......I bet a dollar!

Correlation does not imply causation... you are taking an example where a country already has a gun problem and you go and ban them. Or a country that has no homicide problem.
Did you know that 2/3 of gun related deaths in the US are suicide?
How can we stop that?

... ...This is America and stuff like this Happens because we are a Free Country not a Police State...
I can't think of any other Country as Free as America...
... ... As to @Bolero comment, how are you more free than me? Here we can drive at 16, drink at 18, soon pot will be legalized for personal cultivation, we have free votes, what could I be lacking in my country?
Aside from that sounding nice, do you care to expand on this?
Yes, Bolero I am interested, too.
Interested in reading more from you regarding America being the most free country.
I could also mention some political freedoms similar to those stated above by Wilson but I will not though....

It's really a shame we don't have any peer reviewed studies on gun ownership and violence and safety in the US. This could finally put the argument to bed, I wonder why the FBI or CDC hasn't done this....oh that's right they aren't allowed to by order of Congress, brought to you by the deep pockets of the NRA...mmm...what have they got to worry about?

Not that it would matter to most gun proponents as to them this is an emotional response not a logical/rational one.

stopping suicide is a whole different story...
I'm saying that the people who want to turn America into Venezuela use the "gun deaths" number to promote their cause, and make it look like America has way more murders than everywhere else, when they should be using the homicide numbers.

yep- the 30k+ deaths the antigunners quote includes suicides. remember that each time you hear chuck and hillary quoting numbers - because they always include them.

im trying to be sensitive to the fact that people are angry, confused, bewildered or scared - everyone is outraged over what just happened in LV. but we lose about that many each month JUST in chicago. why doesnt that have enough shock value to grip the nation?

gang violence and homicides committed during felonys make up the majority of violence with handguns being the most common weapon - want to guess how often ar15s or other evil black rifles are used?

we are falling way short on convictions, deportations, and gang prevention and instead want to focus on our efforts on assault weapons bans? wth?

one thing the antigunners, or internet smartassess who want to joke about "clinging to your guns and bibles" - dont want to admit is that the last awb did nothing to decrease crime, and crime rates did not increase after its repeal. but instead of focusing on handguns, criminals/gangs - they want to spend their effort and rabble rabble energy on ar15s - which is basically considered a varmint rifle.

i get that everyone is outraged - but guess what - gun owners are too!!! we hate hate HATE the loss of life and the inevitable political posturing and social media uproar over gun rights. but damn - why arent people taking meaningful action on the issues that account for 80+ percent of all violence? when i go out with my family - the last thing on my mind is getting taken out by an ar15 - the odds are much greater ill be killed in an mva or by a criminal with a stolen handgun that he paid 25 bucks for, when he shouldnt have been out on the streets in the first place. where are the priorities?

if the nation cares so much about saving lives then why arent we doing more to reduce violence from handguns and gang activity? we have a president who is in full support of taking on ms13 etc - but because its trump it becomes a race issue?

but those evil black rifles are just sooooooo scary. and now the left has learned about bumpstocks - so they will focus on that instead of the real killers....smart.....

meanwhile people still getting shotup in chicago.

bullshit - there HAVE been studies - by the cdc AND the fbi. there IS data there - i have personally queried it.

but if you think can get consensus and acceptance on ANY study as controversial as gun control- let me remind you of a little thing called climate change that is the source of how many arguments nationwide?

Make it illegal to commit suicide? Oh it already is. Make it illegal to kill people? Oh it already is. Make it illegal to own automatic weapons?? Oh it already is. Name me one law that would have prevented what happened in Las Vegas? The point is the guy that did the shooting was in violation of a bunch of laws and it didn't stop him. Unless you take all rights away from everyone and prevent everyone form going anywhere, and doing anything without the express approval of some ass hole in government this stuff cannot be stopped. You can stand before the Senate and glare menacingly over the top our your glasses and proclaim that laws have to be made and the only thing you can really do is take freedom away from the innocent.

There are a few things to understand here. First, this is not some academic exercise. People I know are dead. My son got off work right when he started shooting happened to turn East and not South he was about 1 block away. A lady I teach with, her son was an officer on the scene. He was not able to wash the blood off his skin for 24 hours because it was stained on him. He just had to throw away his uniform.

Now some facts for you that are different than what the news is reporting because I have some different sources of information than many others. First, the shooter's girlfriend was not out of the country. I was listening to the police scanner when they captured her. The radio mics were hot when the shooter was shot as there were police in the hall outside his door. I heard it happen.

Next, there were multiple shooters I have heard audio multiple audio and video with more than one weapon being fired.

Next, the police lied about when the shooter checked in. They issued a statement that he checked in on the 28 when in fact he checked in on the 25th... and other evidence shows he had a guest. Who was the guest? They are not saying.

Many of the guns in the photos would not be appropriate for this type of a situation and really look just thrown into a picture. I mean what are you going to do with a single shot shotgun?

Regardless of what weapons he used or how he got them (I have been told by people I trust that the shots sounded belt fed) the weapons as he possessed were in an illegal condition and existing laws prohibited possession of such weapons. So did the gun controls help?

All I am saying is that if you want to feel strongly about something right now, feel strongly about loving your neighbor. Feel strongly about forgiving wrongs and healing wounds. Politics will come later and I am sure that those who hate the Constitution will still hate the Constitution tomorrow. Please don't use my town for your fight.

I posted this on Facebook after it happened. I made it for anyone who would like to use the pain my city is going through to further their moronic political agenda.

We'll put, my friend. Couldn't have said it better myself.

vance by every account heard on the radio -I could have been this guy - at least on paper.

number of arrests, mental health checks, background checks, number of weapons, ammo, social media revelations, political affiliations - NOTHING gave this guy away. unless there is something not being released

it is next to impossible to predict what someone is GOING to do.

O.J. is out, the apocalypse is nigh!!!!:D:D:D:D

Do not let him listen to the "White Album"........

Wish I had the answer, but humans are fragile of mind and can cease to see clearly amid despair. Tons of money or not, you can still become a prisoner of your own mind.:(
