My first kinsai

I was told by the owner of Maruyama Bonsai from Sacramento that Azalea Kinsais are popular and are very sought after because of there spider-like flowers. At first I didn't care about the flowers cause I wanted to purchase one of there azalea show trees. Couldn't persuade them to sell me one but after much thought I took their word for it and got this tree for $65 with a tokoname pot.

Yuzo has quality trees at good prices. That's a good tree for what you spent.
Why wouldn't he sell you one of his show trees? Last I knew, he had lots of big satsuki and was selling them.

His wife was there yesterday and she told me that they plan on displaying next spring in a show. They also had some " not for sale" specimens that belonged to their friends. I bought a nice Nikko last year from them which was show ready with a 2" trunk (pictured below) but I'm looking to get something with a 4-5" trunk to add to my collection.
