New acquisition-1: bald cypress

This specimen should terminate at about half its current height. So you can plan your air layer accordingly. I don't have any experience with layering BC, as I have no need to, but I'm sure someone here has done so successfully.

I was thinking the same, make the air-layer just above 1/2 way point and after the chop, make a new leader at about that 1/2 way point. Thank you

Hmm i quite like it like this, but what do i know! Makes me wonder whether to give mine a chop!

How does one get bark like that? Yours seems deeper and more characterful than mine!

Nice material. I would just grow it out to improve bark character.
