The reputation here is one of bickering instead of bonsai. Since I've been here for a few days, only a couple of people have posted that I don't already know from BT. You're going to have to quit lurking in the closet and start posting. Everyone likes to see pictures of your trees or at least hear about your adventures relating to bonsai, otherwise why are you here. Shucks, what's the worst that can happen, they can't shoot you. If you going to be associated with a board with the name bonsai in it, start posting and talking about bonsai. I'll hang around a while and annoy you with my BS and some pictures of my trees, give me your best shot, believe me I can take it.

We've got a lot of lurkers... but I don't mind. I'd rather have people enjoying the site quietly, than feeling they have to post something just to chat. That said, I love it when people share their trees :)

I appreciate what you are doing..... thanks! Since I don't have pics uploaded to my new pc yet I will have to throw a link out to my blog which I have updated recently. There are some good trees and some not so good trees. But they can only get better from here...this winter there will be some beauties on there that have never been online.

Howdy

I'm used to taking on funny activities (for my part of the world) and learning on the Internet. From you lot.
I feel I understand what the person GIVING advice requires - the advice should be used, effort put in, and the sharing the results is payment enough.

I lurked for a LONG time, I didn't know enough to contribute, didn't have anything I needed advice on.

I've learned, I've grown.

Part of the process was finding the best Internet places to GET advice.

KoB - slightly out of my league....

IBC (RIP????) and Bonsainut IMHO are the best places for me at this stage.

I don't know or care what the flame wars are about, but I favoured IBC because it seemed friendlier.

Right at the point where I actually needed advice, IBC goes offline, and the responce here was underwhelming. I would understand if somebody told me my photos and or yamadori sucks, I can take both.

For better or worse I'll post and play along - guess I second your motion.
