Pinus Strobus-Don't hate

I got a Jack pine, P banksiana, a witches' broom grafted on Scott's pine roots, cultivar 'Chippewa', it seems a reasonable pine for bonsai for those with cold, zone 6 and colder winters. Not a pine for warm climates. Behaves a lot like a mugo.

Also have jack pine seedlings that don't look like much yet.
 
I think those will be pollen cones. Actual pine cones tend to be on the tip end.

But, you might be right. I thought they were coming off the bottom of the shoot, but they might actually be pinecones.

These are pine cones as I get them yearly and I thought as you did a few years back. So I let a couple develop and the developed into cones.
