Well, it would appear that summer here in NoVA has come to an abrupt end, with lows tonight hitting the low 50s. Don't know if this is a permanent thing or what, but I spent the night moving my stock indoors. Hopefully nighttime temps don't stay this way. May leave a few of them indoors though....

I doubt it will stay this cool, although I hope it does I LOVE the fall. Today absolutely felt fall like. Definitely my favorite season but I don't think we're there yet. The forecast says we're gonna climb back towards 90 slowly over the next 10 days up here in NY.

Plants on the carpet and the kitchen table! You must not be married, my wife would kill me if I did that. :)

Yeah it actually looks like we'll get back into the low 60s this weekend, but I'll keep some of my trees indoors just in case this cold spell happens again.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year though.

This is in the dining room (I'm not that crazy), and I'm not quite at the "marriage age" just yet ;)

50s are still 3 months away here. I'm feeling a bit jealous, but I enjoy all 4 Houston seasons: spring, almost summer, summer, and still summer.

We have all the seasons here also.

One week of spring, 11 months of summer, one week of fall and two weeks of winter.

LOL...spoken like true southerner ;)

Ryan, most of my ficus stay outside until it is close to freezing and they seem to not mind. I only bring them in when forecast low is at 35*F or lower.

My Wife has me take all of the tropical inside once the nights are forecast under 50f for several days. I don't know if it is overkill but I do know it works ;)

I leave my two trees out until the weatherman says we MAY see some frost on the ground in the morning. That's well down into the 40s. My two figs (F. nerifolia) have lived in zone 7 for their entire potted lives -- about 10-12 years. They even have -- in moments of carelessness -- survived frost. That's FROST, not freezing.

I'm SO glad I don't do tropicals:D...my back couldn't take it. High temp in Atlanta today ................75F.....I doubt it will last. Definitely strange weather this year, though.

I agree with the others in that's think your stock could have handled that dip in temp without blinking. I also watch the nighttime lows (best to measure locally). I'll wait until I see low 40s before I think about moving them. Not looking forward to re engineering my grow lights. I haven't touched them since the move.

Nah I know my trees and bring them in when we get into the low 50s. It's what I do and that's the way it is ;)

I couldnt be happier with the cooler weather. Its comfortable, I dont break out into a sweat just standing in the shade breathing, my trees are growing again, sleeping is awesome.

It dipped into the 50s here too, but I left all of my tropicals out. None of them showed any signs of being irritated. My bougainvillea is even blooming again.

Yeah I left all my cuttings out last night and they're all fine, so the rest of the stock is heading back out as well.

We recently had a few nights 48-50f and left all the Tropicals sit, no damage and we are headed back to mid 60's at night for several days. Everything is going into a final push and looking well here ;)
