Random Of Doom!

They feel more personable, as in directly relating to the human experience.
Yes, I agree, a real documentation of the true anguish of one’s personal quest for repentance.... haunting stuff..

I COULDN’T agree more about Milton as well.. to put it less-than-eloquently simple... “Paradise Lost has a better ‘soundtrack’”

🤣🤣🤣

Back to the crooked trees, I really think it's something so mundane it's almost funny.
My bet is a bunch of foresters took a whole wagon load of saplings- root balls wrapped in burlap- out to plant one day, laid the trees out where they were to be put in the ground, and then said, "who brought the shovel?"
"I didn't. Wasn't he supposed to?"
"I brought it last time. It was his turn."
"You broke my shovel last time you used. I'm not bringing the shovel to these things ever again."
And so on and so forth, there being no shovel, and a bunch of pissed off foresters. So they all go home.
That night a nasty thunderstorm blows across the region. A stiff wind blows all the saplings over in roughly the same direction, as the torrential rains soak their burlap wrapped roots into the ground. And now you have a bunch of trees planted sideways. 50 years later, that's what they look like.

Narrative makes everything better!!😻

I say the loser of the Mike Tyson vs RJJ exhibition match has to do it.

I like this one!

So, my boss owns a pet tortoise, and there's apparently such a thing as a tortoise community. Anyway, she has a friend who needs a new home for her african spurred tortoise. I'm having serious issues not saying yes.

Tortoises are fun, but Sulcatas get HUGE! I love having just a couple of sweet little box turtles.

I babysat a rescue sulcata for a couple years.
it was a blast. He wandered around the yard and had a big burrow out back. My dogs still use his burrow.
he disappeared during the floods after TS Isaac, I miss the guy.
my dogs still use his old burrow.

That burrow is the single biggest issue for me. We're planning a sizable garden, lots of trees we don't want to lose, etc.

My “Liver Doctor” says that i cannot participate in any “polar plunges” this year... damnit.
