Random Of Doom!

I never knew before now that I would miss seeing you in an old fashioned one piece bathing suit surfing on a sheet of ice with icicles hanging from your nose hairs like walrus tusks.
My life is less complete now for knowing how incomplete it was.

I watched this as a Kanye sceptic, with an idea that I have media based ideas about him.

Don't be a sceptic.

Dude isn't an idiot, just bipolar. I'm actually considering it in light of the truly AWEFUL candidates we have this year. I mean, he's probably going to blow it just like the rest of them, but at least I won't know exactly how he's going to blow it ahead of time.

To stay in line with the original idea of this thread, here's a couple to think about:

What if a black hole isn't an object, but instead it's a entry way to another dimension or universe? It would explain about everything we observe.

If the moon causes the tides, would an increase of global sea levels slow down the earth's rotation?

Cocaine comes from coca plants, and cartels are some of the biggest businesses worldwide, why isn't anyone doing suspended cell cultures to produce it on a huge industrial scale?
All researchers who mapped the genes related to this have magically disappeared and so did most of their scientific work.

How can one prove that we're not in a matrix-like simulation? How can one disprove it?

If the weight of our microbial community outweighs our brain and has a higher metabolism, AND has been proven to affect our mood, taste, desires and mental state, how in control are we?

If an AI system would become sentient and reach the internet, wouldn't it be wise for it to lay dormant? How would we know?

When we finally produce a plastic eating bacterium or fungus, how on earth are we going to protect our food packaging from expiring before our food does?

Here's a nice conspiracy one: Let's say you're a multibillionaire, and you own enough land to keep your family safe for decades. You're completely aware that the most dangerous thing in the world is overpopulation, you've made this a spear point in almost every discussion about it. You're reaching the end of your life, you know that the current law system prevents everyone from prosecuting your family for the things you have done, but then again, they have enough money to last a couple lifetimes and hire a private army. Would you sacrifice 10% of your one-time annual income and your good name, and possibly your life, to save the world? Why wouldn't Gates? In all honesty, he could. What's stopping Bezos? Or Gates?

If there's a genie in a bottle, granting you one wish, is there a better flaw in the system than wishing "I want everything that I write in this book to come true"?

Is the baltic sea anomaly a real thing, or a hoax? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Sea_anomaly

Is it ethical or morally just to clone and re-introduce extinct species like the Woolly mammoth?

Plant diseases spread through the air and spread through aphids and other flying insects, do bonsai artists ever quarantine their trees after a show?

@Wires_Guy_wires WHOA! Slow down, man! Only so many brain cells between us in this thread.

If the moon causes the tides, would an increase of global sea levels slow down the earth's rotation?

This really is a physics question. We'll have to think through it one step at a time.

In the given scenario the Earth's mass doesn't change, but the fluid mass to solid mass ratio does.

The total amount of water pulled toward the moon- tidal waters- increases, meaning there's potentially collectively more water on whatever side of the Earth is facing the moon than the non-lunar-facing side, and the remaining solid mass of the Earth rotates within this uneven distribution of liquid mass.

At what point is it a friction equation, and does it matter with a relatively homogenous solid sphere rotating part in and part out of a liquid sphere? Or does the uneven friction after a certain point rip the Earth apart?

All interesting but too many questions at once. Example, I have read hundreds of pages only on black holes.
By the way, the earth is slowing down and the move moving away from the earth. When the earth was very young the nighttime full moon filled 1/3 of the sky and tides were 1,000 feet high.
Cocaine answer, its about money.
Matrix question, read the Holographic Universe.
Microbial community? We are not in control. Look at antibiotic resistance.
And so it goes.

So, PICK ONE!
Already gave the short answer on 5 of them. I guess technically the one on black holes is not an answer but an observation. If the worlds greatest minds can't agree, I don't think we can even get a glimpse of it without serious research. Same applies to the matrix question. I read about 1 to 2 books a week on average. My favorite subjects are physics (and astro physics), botany, biology and related life sciences, and biographies.
Still, I only have opinions.
You know I meant moon and not move in my first post. I was in a hurry to post and didn't spell check.

(portal to other dimensions)
Theoretically, it would depend entirely on your view of the T dimension.. linear or cyclical.... (a basic, “where are you standing when you start this equation” bottom line of your perception, as T is a dimension, and how you view it is fundamental to understand BEFORE continuing “calculation”

You’d THEN have to determine and correctly term your own understanding of “universes” and “dimensions” for the ease of this “calculation” (I believe DIMENSIONS lie in tangent, projected into/over/behind/under the PERCEIVABLE dimensions we experience.. but this idea is simply a theory, and not for all)

(Then ((if i had enough graphite)) i’d throw realities into the equation... SERATE, hypothetically, than “universes”.. and factor them as their OWN in this “snowballing equation”

One would have to determine and accurately “place” one’s feeling on “universe theory” as well, as there are a few schools of thought. (I ALSO believe that Universes lie in tangent, projected over/under/on top of/ behind the Perceivable dimensions ((and individual realities)) we experience)

So is a Black Hole an object, or a “portal/gateway” to another “universe/dimension”, or possibly something even MORE interesting/scary/unknown??????

....the answer is “YES!”

Methinks thou doest expect too much.
It's for funsies. Not trying to actually solve it- though there's no rule against it- just enjoy contemplating it to the farcical extent of our abilities.. Feel free to make us feel like idiots, and join the fun.

Methinks thou doest expect too much.
Methinks thou doest protest too much. 🤣
Seriously, most of these questions would take a long time to answer if they could be answered at all. I do recommend "The Holographic Universe". I will come up with a few other books and authors worth exploring IMO.

Would recommend "The Order of Time" or anything else by physicist Carlo Rovelli. Very accessible and clear.

I’ve been recently revisiting older cartoons.. looney toons, merrie melodies, all the “lils”, hoppity hooper.. ect..,

A fundamental difference I notice between observing those cartoons THEN and how I see them NOW.. could be stated as such:

“Bugs Bunny... is an ASShole!”

It feels that THIS moment.. RIGHT NOW.. will be the last “calm” Americans feel for a while.
