:p

Wind is blowing like hell here. If it hasn't started up where you are yet, it will.

Must be really strong wind...we are expecting a cold front dropping our temps to higher 40's on Saturday night! ;)

This is the weather front that's been ripping across the country over the last several days, dropping lots of rain with wind. I heard parts of texas (probably east of you) got up to 12" of rain yesterday from this one...you didn't get any??

At 8:45am I called the people next door - Their Gazebo took flight and landed against my house. It has passed and we already got it all cleaned up. Happy nobody was hurt.

We did. It actually broke the record for the month of October set on 1920's (I think). But the cold front is not here yet.

I may have to bring in several of my tropical trees Saturday night.

Rob is screwed:p:p.

Hard to say - here I put all of the trees under the entrance roof last night knowing winds could hit 50mph. The only thing I noticed was when it was strong I had to put bricks in front of the wheels on the grill as it was rolling away. Everything out front was not affected in the least. Being a 195 year old Stonewall the Gazebo did zero damage except for 1 divet in the lawn. It was a hell of lot nicer to us then Sandy last year.

I was awakened when the wind tore a shutter off my 2nd floor bedroom window. Still dark when I left for work so I dont know what other damage may have happened. Glad I got 135mph shingles on my roof last year.

On a brighter and more serene note, I just saw this photo today. Kinda calming and appropriate.

Had several hours of 55-60 mph gusts here, lost power for a couple of hours. Had to go out to an appointment and saw one tree blown down a few houses down, few trees heavily damaged (mostly willows that are still in full leaf), lots of smaller branches on the roads. Moved some of my trees into the garage last night but the rest seem to have fared well. Winds like this are not terribly uncommon around here at this time of year.

On the note of wiring down bonsai. Curious, the wire holes in the pot...if one can weave the wire up and back down...leaving enough length...they could use that to tie down a pot with wires basically hidden. Right? For future reference next year.

Call me - it is an interesting question that I cannot afford the time to type it all out

lol..Thanks for the concern. My trees went into the winter storage shed and will be there until tomorrow. :D

Not the prettiest, but I use simple bungie cords that go under the shelf and simply hook the ends onto the pot lip. Works great.
