Whatever y'all experiencing we must be on the outside edge of it. It's definitely warmer than usual lately, but not quite extreme, but we aren't getting any of that humidity.
Could just be our local microclimate. Our little spot here is boxed in on 3 side by mountains, so allot of the major weather systems tend to happen around us in stead of to us. Still, seems like we should be doing more than 7% RH.

So I watered my lawn for the first time in over a month last Wednesday, and yesterday. Just to keep it a sickly green/yellow, I usually have to water front and back once a week minimum.

Lots of lightning to deliver healthy doses of  N to the grass, trees and flowers.

I don't mind the rain as long as it's enough rain so I don't have to water. I'm inside hiding from the heat right now. I go outside for 20-30 minutes then come back in and cool off. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. Humidity is 60% so it's not too bad. :) When the humidity is above 80% then I hide in the house all day.

Very similar here. Been up to 94° here so far.
Humidity is coming down. 100% overnight is expected most weather here.
Left my cuttings out in the Sun this morning getting everything watered b4 church. 1pm I got them in the shade.
Gonna get hotter ea day through Wednesday.
Got some cloud cover between pics here looking at UVI. 20250622_151744.jpg20250622_152404.jpg

3rd change of clothes yesterday. Only takes a few minutes for one but all that water is insulating against the skin. Takes me over 30 minutes to stop sweating so I can shower.
Good for the lymph system.
Ride mowing is for the lazy. I'm 62 with tachycardia and Parkinsons and when i get on the riding mower I quit sweating 😅

No envy from me, that sounds beyond unpleasant. I hope you get some relief soon.
Our roads were flooded late afternoon yesterday, the south side of town was still partially under water 6 hours later. More storms moving in as I type this, but humidity is only 34%.Screenshot_20250622_150400_Weather.jpg

Another hot one. We have two window ACs that keep our living room a tolerable 75°F. I played around with my infrared thermometer again. It should cool down after the storms roll through tomorrow.

Thats hot. At least you have/had a breeze.

Yesterday. Stagnant air. Should've planted tomatoes further apart.

The "breeze" was from the Southwest though so it was more like having a really giant dog breathing on you all day

Like a convection oven.
I certainly don't miss working on the road 4-5 hrs 6days/wk in those LLVs starting around noontime with no ac. Had a little fan I couldn't use once it reach mid 90s. Made it a convection oven. Then get back to PO and the ac kind of hurt it was so shocking.
Best thing to do that most officials fail to mention besides hydrating is prehydrating.
They go hand in hand...and i don't mean drinking a glass of water or 2 b4 you go out. Prehydrating starts the day b4.

When I did farm work in Montana there were a few days it was 95°F and the mountain across the street was on fire. We only did five hours of harvesting/planting/weeding then we would swim in the Flathead river until it was time to make dinner.

Todays max values...so far. 2 more hours of increase possible. Forecast to still be in 90s at 9pm.

Air temp

Heat index
Max dew point 82+°F
I wish this unit displayed times min/max values are reached. It does online but I never bothered to to instal the software and launch.

Was a high of 34 c ambient today but crazy humidity. Temp gun is surface temp of pavement outside the shop in the shade after 3 hours of sun . 125.1 f 52c

Shed temps for the week. I have all windows open and I open the door during the day.

Most of the flats of plants were moved out to the shade under the tree but the pitcher plants and cacti stayed inside. They're pretty happy.

Don't sweat it guys. Keep the water and give it to the trees. :(.

After a few -for us- hot days (around 90F with wind and no clouds) we are in for 2 weeks of our pretty normal summer weather. Every 2-3 days rain, with normal temps in the low to mid 20c range.

It's trying to rain outside right now. We're mostly out of the really scorching temps for now, but I harvested some lettuce from the vegetable garden yesterday for a salad, and it was a little more bitter than it should be. Hopefully some more water helps that. Still good stuff, though, with some extra vinegar in the dressing. Not sure why I decided against planting radishes this year, because that would've been great.
