Plenty, just not so much in this region. There are some very impressive aspen groves, but they are a phenomenon of their, and not like the mixed deciduous forests further East in the States. I spent much of my early childhood in Ohio, and that is a great example that's unfortunately a two week trip that we don't have time or money for. Here in Colorado, though, it's either too arid or too high altitude, so conifers dominate where there's not prairie or surface water.Really? That's so interesting!
Sounds like time for a roadtrip for you and your boy! Plenty of old deciduous woodlands stateside I'd assume?
