Cool thread! I have always been interested in mushrooms and the awesome colors/varieties there are out there. I am buying some materials right now and will be growing a mushroom garden of my own this year. Boy, I know this bonsai stuff is specific and detail oriented but you should read about mushroom cultivation if you haven't already. Disinfect this, autoclave that, put gloves on before you put gloves on your gloves, etc. It looks challenging but a lot of fun. I'll let you guys know how it goes..whenever I actually get there.
Well, you know what they say: Don't use your own product! It was market night tonight. Took a pic of our table at the end of the evening, only two little bags of Shittake left. I thought I'd show you all this because I think it's totally hilarious and at the same time a bit embarrassing. Third year with that banner and it wasn't until last week that I noticed there's a bit of a problem there. Damn, do I feel dumb!! No one else has ever said anything either though..View attachment 153034

Cool. Try comparing to this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaggy_parasol
The shaggy parasol is popularly praised as a choice edible mushroom. However, it contains toxins which can cause gastric upsets when eaten raw or undercooked, and some individuals show a strong allergic response even after cooking
