As the 2018-2021 time capsule is to be open in September this year... it's time to start a new one.

Same deal... What trees do you have in early stage development, that have a future in medium range of time.

Conditions as before...
1. This time capsule will close the 31st of August.
2. The trees posted in here should not be posted in another thread.
3. To enter the capsule a pic of the tree now must be posted. If you like you can post what you expect from the tree in three years.
4. The time capsule will be dug up again on the 1st of September 2024, to share the before and after pictures.
5. Lets limit participation to 3 trees per person.
6. Be around in 2024 to share the afters!

Please do not post in this thread from 1 September 2021 - 31 August 2024.

Get on it!!!
Whatta ya got!?

I’m game. I missed the last one. Glad to get down in this one. These are 3 trees that I’ve posted just this year in my dedicated backyard thread and another general shimpaku thread, but do not have dedicated threads themselves.

vitex agnus castus

purchased summer 2019 for $42

some of the best bark I’ve seen on the species.

shimpaku juniper

purchased from a nursery in summer 2019 for $34

great bones, needs growth.

Barberry “royal burgundy”

purchased for $23 summer 2021

great bark, trunk flare and overall wild character

I'll lock two in the vault.

Here is a procumbens nana I bought in spring 2020. I'll include a picture of that tree after its initial styling/massacre and the tree today. Hoping to have a full canopy come 2024! I might take the spiral top off and reduce it even further. See you in 2024.

Below is a Chinese Elm forest I started in 2017. I initially placed the trunks a little too symmetrically. I might cut the roots up and re-arrange them. It's always been in a shallow pot and I've been struggling to get some ramification. Hoping that in 2024 this little forest starts to look a little better.

Here’s 3 to add to the vault.

Shimpaku juniper, don’t think I’ve posted it here before. I’ve had it for a few years. In need of work for sure.

Well, I'm in.

First a Zelkova Serrata sapling that came from Germany by plane. Thanks, @leatherback !

Then a Shimpaku Kishu that's going to be a Shohin.

And we finish with a Pitanga , Eugenia Uniflora - Brazilian Cherry - that needs trunk fattening and top control.
