Thank you @Clicio Clearly raintrees prefer your climate over mine!
Sorry for your loss. You know there are not many things more therapeutic than working on a bonsai?Had a little time to do a bit of tidying up on this Juniper today. 1st bit of bonsai work I've done in 6 weeks since my dad passed away. I'll do a bit more when I get chance.

Yes you're totally right. It's been a combination of emotional shock and taking care of my mum - I go round to keep her company & have chores like doing her lawn & garden, online shopping to keep her sheltered etc & putting her bins out. Add to this helping with the funeral arrangements and sorting out probate leaves little spare time for trees, now that I feel I can keep my mind focused. My dad bought me 2 trees from a garden centre years ago - just raw non bonsai stuff. My goal will be to turn these into good trees eventually. Random pic for legitimacy..... a powerful chunky Hawthorn in development.Sorry for your loss. You know there are not many things more therapeutic than working on a bonsai?
