what do you use it for?

A 3 teeth hand cultivator and a reciprocating saw equipped with a metal cutting blade.
You also need a vice to hold the tool while working on it
:)

Just to let you guys know, Stickroot's tools are legit. I have his root hook and rake and they have a great handcrafted feel and look to them. They are quality pieces that I'm proud to own. In fact, I'm thinking of getting some more for gifts.

The tools I make start out as 1/4" square 316 grade SS and 1/4" x 1" flat bar.View attachment 80326View attachment 80327 The blade of the knife is formed while still attached to the bar and then cut off and Tig welded to the handle.
Thanks for sharing the photos. That's really great craftsmanship! Do you pickle the ss after welding?

Okay. I'll play. But I don't know if this will count since it is an assemblage rather than a fabrication.
Oh well here is my "push me-pull you" branch/trunk jack:

Lets me adjust it a couple of turns at a time and unevenly if need be.

OOOHHHH......I need one for my old lady!! Looks cheaper than a dishwasher......would these mount on a kitchen sink full of dishes? Looks more comfortable than the one I have to don after dinner.....everyday.....
