Here are a few pics of twisted pondys we found while collecting last weekend. If you have any twisted trees share them here! :)

Wow, the first one looks almost fake. Did you collect any of these?

Rob

Lol... I think maybe that one belongs at the north pole....

I collected the last two. And the last two in the first post are collectible but they will take some serious work to get out.

These are awesome and the last one is really very nice. I wish I can go on a collecting trip with you guys. :) I'll probably be useless though and end up just admiring the view. LOL

If the last tree on the 1st post is collectible...I hope you go back and get it.

We want to. :) We will this season if we get a chance. If not... we know where it lives! We were ready to collect the one above that one, but the tree wasn't as compact as memory (and wishing) told us it was so we passed on it.

Let me know if you're ever going to be in the neighborhood. If it's the right time of year we could go collecting, if not then hiking and enjoying the view is always an option. :)

Rob, I think this one is going to make a really exciting bunjin!

Wow.. You know, you could pretty much just pot that one up and call it a day. Looks like nature has done 99% of the styling already.:D

**edit** I didn't see Dav4's reply before I typed this. We both had the same thought.

Rob

Holy Smoke Dan! Those are awesome! I too like the last one's in both the first and second post. The latter will be killer with that fat trunk! Very nice finds Dan!

And boy, I too wish I could come up and join you guys!! One, I've haven't been to Wyoming yet, and I've been to a lot of states, even out west...Ca, Or, Washington, Idaho just to name a few. But for whatever reason, I haven't made it to Wyoming or Montana. And two, I'd love a chance to collect anything near that kind of quality!

I figured it out Dan, you're 1200 miles away from me. To drive my Bronco out there and back would be about $1k in gas. I can't do it this year, but maybe next yr? I'd absolutely die for any of those! LOL! It's all about budgeting things out hehe

How's your website coming along? Work out the troubles? I hope so! ;)

Chris

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you ike these :)

Rob and Dave, I agree totally. It should go in to a pot very easily; the root pad was nice and compact directly around the trunk. I'm just praying that it does well.

Don, here's a pic with a pop can:

The invite goes for any of you; If you're out this way give me a call or shoot me an email! At the very least stop by. :)

Chris, my sister is working on the website for me... but I'm loosing out to paying customers at the moment....lol

Gotta love ponderosa... I adore them. :) But you knew that. Great finds, I hope they do well for you. Always glad to see you on the mountain. :)

V

Thanks Victrinia, it was a joy to hang out with you and Eric in mountains. :)

Pretty cool Dan! That first one is quite the sight, it's one of the best parts of yamadori collecting that a person gets to find and see trees like this, collectible or not. I often come across similar twisty limber pines where I go, illegal to collect those in my area though. Still love to find and admire them though.

Have you collected any small beauties like this? Either pine or juniper that are maybe around a foot tall or so.

Rob

Hey Rob, I'll try to get some pictures thisafternoon. I have collected several small trees, both pine and juniper. You might have to arm qrestle my wife for them though...lol.-- I only show her a few of them, because she won't let me sell any she likes...and when I show them to her she likes them...
