I feel sorry for the people with koi ponds, I change 1000 gals every week. If they pay close attention to your water usage, they will nail you to a cross.

Wow, what is the waste of water! I washed off my filters only twice a year (fall and before spring). Never changing the water since the pond was built in 2005. My kois are still doing great! Bonhe

No waste, I water my lawn with it. I have healthy koi and a green lawn.
