So I usually buy cheap plants in the nursery, to try to develope them. But about 6 months ago, I bought two big bouganvilleas (50€ each), chopped them syled and repotted. They are my most expensive tree purchases. I call them Levorotary and Dextrorotary. So,... were they worth it in your opinion? (I mean, would you have paid those 50€ (55$)?...

Probably. It looks like the one on the left has some rot? Although I have a bougie that I'm sure half of the trunk is dead and it still carry's on.

It’s hard to put prices on things without knowing physical dimensions, since a lot of what you pay for is trunk girth. There’s some good movement in the trunks, so that’s a plus.

Yes indeed in my area possibly $75! I have a couple and it’s amazing how ones trunk is relatively rotted and it’s sprouting leaves and flower…

So, as always in these cases, worth depends on different places and different persons. The only important one to measure it it's me. And I'm very satisfied of what I got. And also proud of what I made coming from the starter trees six months ago.

The first is my favorite. It had certain zones of the bark rotten (the white ones), so I cleaned and applied lime sulphure. Also made a little shari in the cut zone:

The second had tapering problems , so I had to make a deep shari to try to avoid them. I still have some tapering problems...

Yes Carol, some zones in the trunk were rotten, others I made a shari. In the next pic, the darker zones were previously rotten. Also you can see the remaining tapering problems in this tree:

It's about 30 cm (12") high

Did it come with the creepiest little monkey character on earth?

If so, more worth it!

That would be a great deal for bougainvillea in my area - they’re hard to come by around here. I’d say you did pretty good :)
