What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

I am preparing for major surgery in December and I've been buying things to help recovery from that. Got kinda depressed with it and wanted to order something fun so ordered some bonsai books that I don't have in my book collection. The Little Book of Bonsai is to replace my original one I gave to a person new to bonsai and wanted to learn.

Figure it will be reading material while I recover

Do you have “Bonsai Heresy” by Michael Hegedorn? Fun read and very informative

Best of luck with the surgery, I hope everything goes well and you have a quick recovery.

Two Nao's, a Wallace Woods, and a Sara Rayner (pics in that order). All between 18 and 22" - I was severely lacking in this size pot.

Was happy to meet you @NaoTK, @Sansokuu, and @ForrestW! I hope the trip was worth it - I feel the vibe I was getting was that people were more frugal this year.

I picked up several plants I have been waiting to get for some time… a male and female princess persimmon and a Zuisho white pine clone from Julian Adams and I also grabbed a pretty nice kingsville boxwood with a good amount of potential. None of those are really worth a photo right now since they are in a very “raw material” state. I also took the opportunity to check off another of my “must have” pots from my list with an addition to my collection from @NaoTK IMG_7952.jpeg

Having now discovered @ForrestW pots I also added a new “must have” to the list 🤷🏻‍♂️

On top of all that I also earned extra brownie points from my better half with a gift of a tote bag from @Sansokuu that she absolutely loves! People love cool presents!

It was great to meet you this weekend! I look forward to seeing the pots in use :)

Marcus certainly must be the king of isms..your other guy? And your TH one. "Same as it ever was" probably Marcus himself? Anyhow where did you get thease things? I'm guessing they are juniper? I get enough volunteers just in my garden. But up on the mountain thousands of hemlock and dug fir. But never any juniper seeded itself.
I'm surprised there's not more coments here?

I do. Havent read it yet either so should add that to the list of things to keep me occupied

Ive been wanting to get David de Groots Principles of Bonsai Design for a couple years now. Unfortunately it's never been made available in Europe. Finally decided to bite the bullet and import it from the US, and decided to add a few other books as well.

But this new pot for my yamadori sylvestris which I bought earlier this year. Now i’m doubting if it is maybe too big and it would be better to go smaller although I don’t know anything about the root situation.
