Huh. I haven't seen that in awhile, but I've seen it and did the same as you.NothingI was about to make a purchase from my favorite bonsai nursery but when I got to the checkout, the shipping was almost as much as my purchase. I just couldn't do it.
Awesome!Inspired by the thread posted by @Tidal Bonsai , I got 5 Callicarpa Dichotoma saplings online. Orijinal idea was to braid them together, but they come a bit thicker than expected, so I will work them in different styles seperately and one or two will be used at the starting raft contest.

I went to their website and did an online chat about my dilemma. I was told who/whatever determines their shipping costs doesn't realize that more than one thing can be shipped together. Turns out the shipping is really only $38.NothingI was about to make a purchase from my favorite bonsai nursery but when I got to the checkout, the shipping was almost as much as my purchase. Great pot for $3! It looks perfect for a cascade.I visit Volunteers of America on a regular basis, there's a store right down the street.
Anyway, I found this pot, which looks as though it might actually have been made for bonsai. Can't read the "chop", but it was stamped.
If not, no big deal... looks like it would work well for one or two different style bonsai.![]()
Now all I need to do to fill it, is create maybe the toughest style to produce....Great pot for $3! It looks perfect for a cascade.
How long do you expect to let these grow before styling them, aside form the dwarf Trident?Got my Mr. Maple order. I did so good for most of the year resisting the urge to buy starter material but there was a sale!

The graft on the dwarf Trident maple is really bad.

Not sure. Some of the grafts are terrible so I may just use them for cutting/airlayer stock, then ground grow them. How long do you expect to let these grow before styling them, aside form the dwarf Trident?
