What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

In the clearance section of my local Lidl I saw pot mesh disks (45mm) for only € 0,29 for a pack of 50 pieces.
This is too cheap to let go so I bought the last 4 packs.

Got a portable greenhouse for my tropicals so I don’t have to bring them inside when the cold fronts move through. They usually only cause low temperatures for a few days, so I’ll leave it open and only put the cover on when the temperature is going to be below 45-50F. Tomorrow will be the first time for the cover to go on. Temps will be in the high 30s to low 40s for a couple of days. If the temperature gets down to freezing I’ve got a 15’ serpentarium heating cable I will put inside it.

After misidentifying my local street trees (is Triadica, not Tilia) I bought an authentic Tilia cordata from Brent at evergreengardenworks.com Nice size trunk for a 1 gal tree, and packaged so I could easily retrieve the tree without spilling packing peanuts everywhere. Thanks Brent!

Where are you going with this?View attachment 622055
thickening the aerial root, I'm replanting this guy into a much bigger pot in the spring and lowering it to expose its root flare. Will prob chop most of that root but i'm having fun watching it shoot out tertiary roots at the moment lol

Idk if it'll work but maybe a future root cutting? Haven't played too much with ficus

Not a purchase by me, but a birthday present from a friend. On his way to my home for a visit, he stopped by The House of Bonsai in Los Angeles and came back with these - two cool looking Junipers and four young Pines. Happy Birthday to me! I think I know what to do with the Junipers, but have to learn what to do with the Pines because I've never worked with Pines before.

Happy with the plants though both are extremely loose in their pots. Had to heel them in the ground, no way they were going to make it till spring in their pots...
And FedEx never fail to disappoint...
The difference between regular and express shipping was insignificant, so I decided to go with express. Nice, right?
Plants were supposed to be delivered yesterday and I got a delivery notice - delivered - with a pic of somebody else's door and a big box cracked open.

Filed a complaint on line. They actually called and talked to me nicely yesterday. Got a text this morning with an option to check the status of the ticket. When ypu click on the link, the only option awailable is a check box saying "Did you received your package"... Never heard from them afterwards.
Today the real package was delivered.
All is well if it ends well...

I guess, if they are unable to meet the delivery time, they just lie...
