That's the pickled plums, right?
No, the seeds won't be viable. The salt kills everything but the bacteria responsible for the fermentation.
Yeah I thought that may be the case. These are super salt but delicious!
I have enough Umes anyway but growing a few from seed could have been a bonus.

Today I had babies!😍

Found this praying mantis egg case on one of my hibiscus when I brought them in for the winter. It'd been so long that I assumed it was spent, and just the case still there, but checking on plants this morning I found the adorable little buggers EVERYWHERE.

Unfortunately, I've been able to keep the aphids down for the most part, so I'm afraid they'll have nothing to eat but each other.

Yeah, happened to me before. They usually don't make it to Spring...

Could always hit up a pet store and get some tiny crickets or something to feed them if you want them to survive
I think Shady has his plants in his living room. It could be too much of a food chain. ;)

A couple of my indoor experiments. I know. Deciduous, dormancy blah blah blah. If you’d like to hear about what I got going on feel free to ask ;)

I have about 150 dawn redwood seedlings, and I don’t plan on losing these. So I’m comfortable 😂. I have put these all through about 2 1/2 months of HARD dormancy. I’m talking 19 degrees steady. I brought 6 RWs in, fertilized them, and hit them with a STRONG grow light and keeping humidity up. Ive gotten all 6 Redwoods to wake up in about 2 days. Same with My bloodgood, 2 1/2 months of 19 degrees, fertilizer and a strong grow light and BAM. She popped right open. My experiment is to compare these to my other trees which are still dormant. I have 20 Japanese males cultivars chilling in my garage just waiting till April 😂

did some minor wiring on my Juniper to help shape and develop the lower pad. Lightly trimmed some of the growth on the trunk above the lower pad. Keeping most of that growth to see what it may become in the growing season. Nothing major, just a little something to do on a rainy day. not the best pics but I think they show what I did.
