Erggg! Big tree branch split an AP butterfly I had growing out...
One could argue it was nature saying, this is the year for the trunk chop to create taper.

My day was spent on cheap bonsai, my garden sprouts a good supply of Carpinus betulus. I dig some up every year and start their journey as bonsai. This year I used most of them to create a forest. I did slowdown the collection and only kept a few of those I dug from the garden. The composition will get its own thread once I have time to take decent pictures.

More repots, for some of the rubbish material clogging up the benches I am tired of looking at!

Miyasama Yatsubusa Trident gets a pond basket and will be planted in the ground to help heal some big wounds (and give me a couple of years to think about the next step 😁). Nursery yew gets a stone monkey unglazed mushikui pot (native tree, native pot competition). Nursery shohin cotoneaster gets mottled reddish Ian Baillie glazed round.

Hi-grade containers for low-grade trunks 😁 🥾

I'm letting it grow out for the competition but need the native pot on it alright? 🤣 please don't judge lol. Plus you owe a picture haha

Photo tax: Here is some kind of pest or disease on my buxus that keeps recurring... I thought it was caterpillars but seems to have continued over winter. Hope its not box blight?

Finally finished glazing my teapot. It'll be fired tonight and I am going to see the final result next Sunday. Hopefully, not disappointing... I put a lot of effort into it.

Brand new, so go easy. 😂 I pruned and wired a few branched on my "practice" ficus. First time wiring anything but houses. 😉 I'm honestly thinking about chopping/layering the trunk to just above the first branch, but that's for my future, more experienced self. And now I've got some cuttings. 😊
