My first Airlayer!
Field Maple.
There was a whole colony of isopods living in the moss and even some snails. Kinda gross and wondering if the isopods would chew the roots if they run out of moss to eat? Couldn't get them all out so a dozen or so made it into the new pot. Problem?
Next time maybe I'll use an anorganic substrate.

Found these at my local bookstore. They charged $4 for them. I also had credits for selling them books. But not bad. The pottery books have snippets of cool ideas and recipes. Top left was printed in the 70’s. The Japanese garden book has cool pics and info. The bonsai book is good and basic. I’ve heard good things about it. Haven’t looked much through it yet.

My Elm raft is alive!
Dug this up in spring, the leaves fell off shortly after and it had shown no sign of life since. Being an Elm I expected it to respond sooner but I'll take it. Hoping come spring next year it will push some buds lower on the branches so I can shorten the left one drastically.

Looking at some of the color emerging so far on my hornbeam. Last year they were almost all yellow but this year im getting more of a reddish orange. Can't wait for my other trees to catch up.

I composted two more dead trees. This summer has been devastating.
You can see by my growing stack of cedar boxes how many trees I've lost this summer.
I continue to try and keep my Cryptomeria from deteriorating any further but as you can see I'm losing that battle.
The hardest part is the countless hours of research, care, time, energy, and money I've poured into my trees this with virtually nothing surviving containers for more than a year.

Picked some brush up and revealed a baby copper head sleeping right under where my hand was. Gave me a wtf face lol wasn’t aggressive. Could tell it needed a minute to get on its way.

Sadly after almost 7 years I cancelled my Mirai subscription. Losing my job at the end of the fiscal year as part of the government spending and manning changes, and starting a new one on OCT 6 that relies on commission only, so until I get a grasp of my new income I am cancelling all my subscriptions (except the gym as that is my Zen place other than the trees).
