Winter bonsai Maple indoors

Old thread, OK, but interesting.

I suppose Acer tataricum ssp. ginnala must be considered as an invasive species in Wisconsin. The climate is much too mild here for them to be considered as "invaders" : just a couple of nights at -5°C (23° F).

Watch out for the flying saucers spreading out-of-space seeds...

I have an appointment on April 26th with an addictologist to try and get rid of my addiction to tobacco. The only addiction I've never ever could get rid of for more than 24 hours in 50 years...
 
Where in Wisconsin is it zone 3 I’m not aware deciduous tree for the north not already mentioned . Apple 🍎 some prunes acer rubrum hop hornbeam Service berry dogwood hawthorn hackberry red white black chestnut and pin oak beech birch hard to make good bonsai out if most but alaska birch is most likely the cold hardiest Deciduous tree on the planet

Agreed! From what I know of North of ME... like "the soo" and more northern is..

"Pretty Soon Birch and Firs (tight firs resembling Picea) are MOST of the trees you see."
