I have a tall juniper in a small pot. I tether it to the rack for wind.
I just got to wondering if wheel weights would make the pot too heavy to tilt. Barring hurricane of course.
I could use rocks but they would take up a lot more soil space.
Wheel weights could circle the edge of the pot bottom.
As well as giving environmentalists a fit. :)

I have some lead fishing weights holding some guy wires attached to Camellia branches for 1 year now.
Tree is doing fine and blooming as always.

Are the weights in the soil or just hanging?

I have a friend who uses fishing weights. Ties them to fishing hooks and dangles them below the branch. Works for him.

Hanging is better.

Would you like tea taht was left in the dirt with lead ? ....

And what's the, gimmick with having a lead weight on the ground ? Better use guy-wires then.

I had no way to tie the guy wire either to a root or to the sides of the pot. Sooo... In comes the weight.
