Yamadori arborvitae

Much difference between genuine tree grown by God in wild and anything grown by man. "What difference does it make" sounds like criminal hitlery murdering the Benghazi 4 and dismissing her crime. While some yard trees may or will make delightful Bonsai they are still not Yamadori.
I think the intent for the collected material would add some weight to the fact as to whether it is Yama or not. I have seen collected trees from the side of the road that look like they have been mowed down a thousand times but the trunk that remained showed great character and age. What is the difference between a snow load breaking down a tree each year to give it "that" look, or a yearly lawn mower treatment giving a tree just as much character?
