So, what is the purpose of this thread?
This is the problem with this country: This misguided, harebrained idea that being a maverick, and individual, someone who can pull themselves by their shoestrings, is the macho ideal. They want to look tough, "I play by my own rules, damn what everyone else's think," and they only come across as immature and ignorant. So Willie Nelson learned rules (like the rule of what strings to put your fingers on to make a C chord) before being able to intuitively create music
Every great surreal / abstract / modern / whatever artist learned perspective first
It doesn’t really matter, but yeah, your examples are of rule followers. I don’t think I know any greats who didn’t start with the rules. Maybe Werner Herzog because of his upbringing?
Do whatever you want, it’s just not some badge of honor the way you think it is to not care. Doesn’t mean you can’t have fun!

It’s mostly just living rent free in his head from what I can tell haha
Again, it’s fine, but it’s like people who read Harry Potter and say it’s the same thing as people who read James Joyce. There’s nothing wrong with Harry Potter, it’s fun!
People just aren’t handing out participation trophies for it. That’s the part that seems to bug them.
Anyways I feel like I’ve already invested too much here and I don’t want anything I say to come off as making fun, it’s not intend to. SO I’ll just back out.
Hey it’s all above the vibes of your bookshelfWhat about people who bought 'Finnegans Wake' only to put it in their bookshelf?

It’s bonsai theory 101This thread is a train wreck.
I don't know if your comment refered to my comment, but my comment is not about your post but rather what your post has turned into. I defend you but don't have the patience for where this post is heading. As usual, the person with the flimsiest argument resorts to insults. About par for the course. Sooooooooooooooooo, I'll let this thread die.
