What did you do today? Show us Pic Required

Cleaned up my repotting area. Stacked up all the pots I considered using but didn't and put them in the garage. Note to self, you don't need any more pots. Sorry no pics, it's dark now.
I seem to be on a pot drive right now... Looking for one like Bjhorn used...

I started an air layer on a willow leaf ficus less than seven weeks ago. Never tried an air layer on one and recently read a blog post where a guy said it takes forever. The foliage on the air layer side was looking a little pale so I figured I'd just remove it and stick it in water to root. Well dang it already has roots. That's plenty for a ficus. 20231002_201508.jpg

Don't worry I added more dirt to cover the roots up.
I'm glad I kept all of that cedar scrap from my shed build. Gives me something to screw to the airlayer.

Back into the greenhouse for the last hot days of summer.

Now to figure out what to do with the rest of it

The Chinese quince I snagged about a month or so back has been having a very late in the season explosion of growth, so I thought I'd tame a few of the elongation shoots before they significantly harden. There's a couple spots I'll likely remove in the long run, particularly the bizarre business going on in the apex. But it took a notable pruning before shipping to facilitate it fitting in an appropriately sized box, so I dont want to push my luck on what I can get away with when the cold is imminent.

Pickin at deadwood on this one

I hate the Jin that’s on the left, this isn’t necessarily the front. I really like the work I did killing the root for shari, and it’s been a few weeks and nothing looks like it’s dying

From any view, I can’t figure out how to make that jin not look like a straight beam
