Hello,

I received this Hawaiian Umbrella tree in the mail yesterday. I live in Minnesota, which was approximately 30°. I requested a signature on the package, so I would be able to bring it directly inside. The package was instead left in front of the house for approximately 4 hours. When I unpacked it, some of the leaves are a reddish brown. I am wondering if it is shock due to the temperature changes etc? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Probably a little frost bite but the rest looks fine. Umbrella trees are very resilient so this little set back should not have long term consequence. Just snip the damaged leaves off. New ones will grow but maybe not until spring now depending how well it likes its new home.

Hi All! Hoping you can help me, too! I received my 8 year old Hawaiian Umbrella today. Took it inside as soon as UPS left it on my porch and it’s straight up FROZEN. See pics. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Demand a refund or replacement, if it's frozen, it's dead. If your weather is so harsh that it arrived frozen, not exactly the best time to order a tropical.

Sorry. :( If you get another wait till temps are above 40F overnight. I second frozen equals dead.

I'd start a refund instead of hoping it gets better.

Thanks, they typically ship with heat packs, plus I work from home. It was not on the porch more than a minute. It was from a bigger company whom I'd orderded from several times in the past. Shame. But they made it right, immediately. They're shipping a replacement in March.

Thanks. They're shipping a replacement and we agreed to wait until March to do so. Shame tho. This company is usually very good. Everything was well packed, and they usually ship overnight with heat packs. Not sure where the disconnect was this time, but I wont hold it against them. Like I said, they're usually very good.

Appreciate all the responses!! :)
