Used up the wire scraps on some Field Maple Saplings, Ficus Benjamina cuttings, and Crassula Ovata starters:

I received a dozen Liquidambar bare root whips. I planted them up yesterday evening.

Also, today I'm excited because my dwarf callistemon is about to bloom....Stay tunned, those red bottle brush flowers are the reason I bought it in a garden center 3 years ago

Bought this dinky ginseng ficus for a whopping $5 from the clearance section at Lowe’s, and set up my impromptu rain barrel. Had a virtual day teaching due to winter weather and decided I was bored inside.

Oh, and for those who have been watching my mourning doves picture with me, the party is over. The babies were out of the nest this morning and they flew away with mom when I went outside to take a picture. Don’t know if they will come back to it.

They do show up back under the nest, but their flying skills aren’t good enough to get up into the limb where the nest is. They hang out on the ground under the tree. They are a little more skittish now and won’t let me get too close. This one landed in the area I put up my rabbit fence and can’t figure out how to fly out of it. It finally figured out it could sneak through the fence.

Repotted these two cypress last night. Lots of work to do but I was happy with the progress on the roots with this repotting.
Also noticed my young maple seedlings are starting to leaf out!

Had to bring the bougies inside to keep them out of the freezing temperatures, so did a little trimming on this guy. Not much trimming since it’s recovering from a case of too much water. I took it out of the ground last summer because it was starting to show possible root rot. Don’t know if I got it out of the ground in time. When we get long rainy seasons here they get too much water in the ground and are very susceptible to root rot. I can control its water intake better in this training pot. Time will tell if it can fully recover.
