$10 Prariefire crabapple, draw me some lines please?

Yes , it is WIERD, but it happens commonly to get better shape of a fruit bearing tree.

Maybe you're right, that's news to me.

Fruiting trees aren't really common in central texas because we don't get enough winter. With the exception of peaches.

I still doubt that's the case. A large professional grower supplying ornamental trees to wal mart would have had to look at a very young plant and said 'this little guy isn't going to have an appealing branch structure. I better graft a scion real low on the trunk.'

I have an elm "clump" my wife calls the ugliest f#/÷%ING thing she ever saw.
Compared to that thing, this is beautiful.

I will hack on it a bit and see what happens.
I would like to get it pretty short, might put a jack on it.
Sounds good. What bothers me is that the position of the second branch, the gin, and the lower branch are in very good coordination with one other. Shortening or bending the second branch (which might be necessary anyway) will put the other two off. I guess ultimately, the gin will also have to be shortened and the lower branch ..... even lower. Or leave those as they are and thread the second branch into itself, emerging better-placed and a bit more horizontal than it is now?

She is nice to you! What a sweetheart.
I remember the picture. I do. She is VERY nice to you!

Too bad WalMart doesn't stock any Foemina. That would have been even better.
