I dreamt that someone had proposed a mallsai as a serious piece worthy of study and appreciation much like Duchamp did with his "Fountain" sculpture in 1917. He attempted to turn the world of bonsai on its head by asking what is bonsai anyway and how do we define quality? Thankfully it was just a bad dream!

So China has done bonsai for longer than everyone else, but it seems like the current trend is bar branches, or branches that go all around the trunk at the same height. I don’t like it one bit, and I see this every day

@NorthTXacer, I love the fluting at the base and the movement in the trunk of that BC. Would you mind sharing where you obtained it?

My little willow leaf ficus that will go into a grow pot this spring to thicken up for a couple years.
