I talked with @sorce , he is tied up with family stuff. I'll be there wearing a brilliant safety cone orange shirt, and I'll hang out at least for a while @hometeamrocker 's pot shop (pottery, that is, recreational won't be available until end of the year).

I will probably be taking a picture of every tree in the exhibit, so the other place to find me is in the exhibit hall.

At my rather excessive weight, the brilliant orange shirt should be easy to spot. There's a lot of fabric there.😎

star jasmine

Owen Reich entered this tree.

variegated star jasmine. Owen was saying he wired the tree this week, in his class I took.

I did not take any pictures. I ended up volunteering all day today.

This is Owen's tree, I pulled the photo off of Bill V's blog. The leaves just look different from the other one, could be the lighting. I believe that the cascade one I asked about before is part of the Botanical Garden collection.

Owen's tree is Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Hatsuyuki' or variegated star Jasmine 'Hatsuyuki'. I'll check tomorrow to see if the star jasmine in the permanent collection is the same cultivar or different cultivar.

Were you the guy that almost got into a fight with an old guy volunteering because you were picking up all the trees and accent plants to get a better look? Or the guy walking around with a couple people having a serious discussion on each tree?

The first guy had a peachy orange shirt. The second guy had a blaze orange shirt.

The cultivar name Hatsuyuki means “summer snow”. Both are called that, but distinctly different variegation. All I know is I’m right 😂.

Took a workshop with @Owen Reich on J. Procumbas Nana at the show. Just wanted to thank Owen for the individual attention he spent with each person in the class. I signed up five minutes before the class started. I learned a lot, Owen talked us through future development of the tree and also discussed future design of the apex, which is rarely discussed.

Blaze Orange on Saturday. Yep I was walking and talking. I tried hard not to touch anyone else's tree. The shirt was a shirt worn by hunters and road workers, safety blaze orange. You should have come over and introduced yourself.
