Here is a question for those of you that have been doing this for longer than I, Is it ok to take shears to shimpaku foliage to create a nice clean, groomed foliage pad, OR is it better to just pinch? Walter Pall I am intrested to hear you thoughts.

A Satsuki Azalea 'wakaebisu' flowering. This tree was a cheap $30 find on a trip to texas. The thickest part of the trunk has a diameter of about 1.25 inches.
