Well, there were a couple reasons. First, there's not an awful lot out there on Spirea as bonsai. I was hoping Jim or some of the other club members had some insight on how to make the tree better and what to expect moving forward. I also needed a smaller tree that could stay in my office all day before I went to the workshop. I leave from work to go to our club meetings so whatever I bring has to be hardy and easy. Weekend workshops are a bit different. That's when I can bring a few less tolerant and bigger material to work on. In the spring I'm going to create a separate thread on this and my other Spirea. It will be a "what I've learned so far" type thread for anyone interested in trying this little jewel in the future.

I totally appreciate that!

One of these will find its way to me soon!

Wow I love that rosemary! That's the first plant that made me want to get in to bonsai before I even new of it.

Thanks for sharing with us!

C'mon guys I keep thinking this is an update!

Being Florida and all, frequency is a concern!

They are all bery nice, Vin, especially the rosemary. Mine unfortunately expired.

The boxwood is coming along nicely.

John
Thanks John! Sorry to hear about the rosemary. As we all know, it's difficult
to grasp the true character of a tree in photos. I wish you could see the boxwood
in person. If I can get the center trunk where I want it, it's going to be an epic
tree one day. (as well as an Azalea some guy from Mobile helped me with a
couple years ago ;)) Well, at least in my collection it will be epic. :)
