Hello,

I got myself 8 gallon training pots that i want to use to develop strong roots and thicker trunk.

I have read this link : https://home.comcast.net/~okamigardens/Articles/DevelopingMaples.htm#growpots

and i liked reading it alot.

What i think i have learned so far is the following :

repot them now ( 50% akadama / 30% lava / 20% bimskies ) into the training pots ( the roots are coming out the current draining hole )

Let the trees grow until august + give them fertilizer 10-10-10 each week.

In August cut them back until the first branch.. > This step i'm not sure.

Can you please advice and if you could be so helpful , create stripes with paint on my pictures so i'm 100% where to cut

For what it's worth,
Dwarf Jade = Portulacaria afra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portulacaria_afra)
Family = Portulacaceae

Clip and grow works great for Dwarf Jade, but I can't speak to the podocarpus as I've never had one.

Hello,

I was looking what sub forum i have to pick when i want to talk about a specific tree.

I have found the wiki myself already , but thx :)
