I haven't been around here much lately. Saw some news flying around about the extreme cold for the Midwest and Northeast. Low will be in the negative and high will be in single digit in spots. @Carol 83 - How are we doing, flower girl?
The hope is this cold will not be moving this far south as I am not ready for this. @Cajunrider Uncle, Will Batman and Robin be going inside to get out of the cold?
Stay warm Midwesterners!

Don't get me started... 5 inches of snow a few days ago and 10 day forecast doesn't have us getting to freezing, highs only in the teens for the next two days with lows in the single digits... and I've got an "already paid" beer tasting event at the Detroit Zoo tomorrow night... gonna stick to hearty IPAs and Stouts!!

I can't really complain because we had a mild November... until the last week. We are now running seven days straight of temps that are 10 degrees or more below average for this time of year.

To be accurate, climate change will produce general warming over the entire planet. The warming then causes extreme and difficult to predict local weather--hotter, colder, wetter, or more drought. In the near term, the increased variability results in more dangerous weather of all types.

Right now in my backyard, it’s 23°F and snowing, while according to Google, it’s currently 33° in both Moscow in the Soviet Union, and Anchorage Alaska… colder than normal here, but warmer than normal there. Weather is constantly changing from one local to the next, but extremes are becoming the new norm.

I saw this guy on my commute home this evening. He doesn't seem to mind the weather. 27F Topless. I want to do wind chill calculations but it's dinner time. :)

The whole drive home I was picturing his arrival.

He probably only operates his snow blower in denim shorts and flip flops... Frickin' Michiganders!

(by the way..... doesn't the guy in the convertible kinda sorta almost look like our most recent ex POTUS... would make sense if it was him, I guess 🤷‍♂️😬)

I've driven with the top down in weather almost as bad. Crank up the heat and keep moving fast. In well designed convertibles, aerodynamics send rain and snow right over the top without getting the interior wet. But if you stop you are in for it.

Thankfully only one night of below freezing temps this week (last night) for us here in the boot. Personally, I am happy for it. The trees need the extra push to get into dormancy.

I do not envy you folks farther North 🥶

The predictions have been consistent for the last couple of weeks. They’ve been saying polar air will be unleashed in December because of unstable polar winds which allow frigid polar air to dip down

For what it's worth I saw a woolly bear caterpillar this weekend. It was black on the ends, brown in the middle. If you believe in that kind of thing winter will be hard at the start and end but mild in the middle.

He actually looked more like Santa Clause, big ole ZZ Top beard. :) Sounds like you got more snow than me. The last big amount they forecasted was only an inch for me. Turned to rain down here.

We were going 10MPH at the time but why did you drive like that? Top broke?

We had 6-8 inches of snow last Saturday and another 3-4 inches Monday, so pretty much reached the average snowfall for our winter. Stupid cold and I'm worried about my crape myrtle in the garage that didn't wake up until late July. Still trying to talk my husband into transferring to Florida.....
