I collected these 2 urban yamadori near downtown Atlanta. I have no experience with the species and info seems scattered, but my guess is that they are pretty tough customers. I usually wait a bit before posting in hopes of the plants surviving, but Walter Pall posted a few nice pics of honeysuckle today on Facebook and Bonsai Barry posted his thread, so I thought I'd chime in. The 1st one is the lesser of the 2 and came with somewhat better roots. I planted it in a well draining box in Faffard soil with perlite and decomposed peanut shells. The 2nd one is the better trunk, but came with fewer roots. When I found it it was growing in a root-over-cinder-block manner. I was tempted to keep it, sort of in a Nick Lenz way, but it loosened during collection and I removed it. I planted it in a large bonsai pot in my bonsai mix of Akadama, Pumice, Lava, and a small amount of the decomposed peanut shells. Fingers crossed for health and survival of both. Cheers!
