Very cool pics!

The only way we can keep carnivorous plants around here is to go with a dedicated bog terrarium. I had a nice small one in my kitchen for a few years - when I made the error of thinking it would be fun to grow carnivorous plants from seed. :) If you have never tried, it is quite interesting. Imagine a perfect version of an adult Venus fly trap... smaller than a pencil eraser. You could probably create an entire bog system with several plants - in a shot glass.

And I agree - definitely RO/DI water. That's all I used. If you don't have an RO system, just buy a gallon of distilled water at the grocery store. It should last a long time.
Are you saying they stay small from seed? Why would that possibly be the case? That’s kind of funny... I’m tempted to set up a shot glass terrarium now haha. Did you grow yours in trays of water? Submerged or no?

I really can't give good advice as it's my first time purchase. They look cool, but the plants are much smaller than I expected. Very pricey in my opinion. I paid over $150 for these. I'd be most worried about the diminutive sundew in the condiment container. It's the size of a puppy's toenail. Everything was packed well into a small USPS flat rate box. I purchased from carnivorousplantnursery.com.
Well I’ve looked around and all I know is the price really just depends on the individual plants cultivar (or whatever the term is), it’s rarity/demand and such. I will never understand the basis for pricing on certain things like these or orchids. But you got 8 plants for $150, at almost $20 a plant I don’t know if that’s good or bad either. Too late anyway right! I think they’re super cool, and since the deed is done what Could you do anyway. I’d bet if you grow them where they need to be they’re going to take off for you.

Those are nice, the red is stellar

I have this freshwater planted tank I’ve been considering turning into a half PT/ half terrium with carnivorous plants and maybe flowering plants. Not VFT though because they require dormancy. Anyone have any opinions or ideas on how to pull it off? I overdoses Flourish Excel one day and it killed off the carpeting plants (Monte Carlo) and I’d like to switch the tank up a bit. I just wonder how CP would do in here if I lowered the water to about like a pond or bogg

No I'm sorry if I misled you. I mean when they germinate they are really REALLY small. And because they grow in a nutrient poor environment they grow very slowly. Try to grow a plant on 100% peat and RO water and you'll see what I mean :)

Well, I guess this guy is happy- this is all new growth from only the 2-3 weeks I’ve had it. Circled in red. Hopefully those are traps forming at the end ? it’s been plenty humid enough here.

Sigh of relief, I’ve been worried about it getting too much sun and not enough water- I’ve been stuck on the couch with a cast ?

To anyone who's interested.. I have made thousands of leaf cuttings from nearly every drosera.
Take a leaf, put it in microwave boiled and then cooled water with 3 tbs of ordinairy table sugar per gallon.
Then cover with plastic foil. Floaters will produce clones in 21 days or so.
Best to spread your chances, and change the water every 2 days.

I read that wrong at first and thought you said to microwave the leaf  Good information though

Haha I should have phrased it better. I used eppendorf cups for this procedure. Easy to work with and no foil needed, and dirt cheap. Just boil the water before putting it in the cups and let it cool before you add a leaf.

Aren’t they addicting?? That’s going to look awesome once they fill in. It will be nice with varying heights and colors.

I'm hoping the rain we're expecting next week will get the peat mix in the new bog garden wet enough to plant and allow the new pitchers (and sundews coming soon) to settle in for the winter. It'll take a few years for them all to mature but I think it's really going to look cool... particularly on the side of a mountain:cool:.
