Chickasaw Plum

Looks like overspray from weed killer to me.

Thanks Steve!

I just realized that the effected area of the tree is where I sprayed Safer Soap. Would this have same effect as weed killer I wonder? Maybe the leaves burned? I don't know, but I'm glad for your help.

I've never seen Safers do this but there is a list of compatible plants on the label (or used to be haven't used it in a while) maybe this one isn't.

I have seen something similar in other trees before and it was something that was eating the insides of the leaf..... I have seen what round up or similiar products do to leaves and this doesn't look fimilair to me.

If you were spraying this area then I would say it is a result of what you were spraying to eliminate.

Good luck.

Safer can burn or shrivel the leaves of some trees, I have done it myself.

This is good to know that nothing serious is wrong. I was spraying for aphids in one section of the tree. The leaves are still new and tender. I wonder if that's why they burned or if it would have had the same effect when the leaves harden?

Help me please!

I have another potential problem with this tree. Maybe someone can help me?

I noticed that leaves at random all over the tree are turning yellow and dropping. I moved it from full sun to just morning sun exposure but I don't remember if the yellowing and then subsequent dropping started before or after it was moved. But it seems pretty steady and it is mostly (not all, but mostly) the leaves on the interior of the tree. Any ideas what could be happening? For what it's worth I have a peach tree growing in the ground and it seems to be doing the same thing.
