Well, this is another tree I got to clean up last weekend. Did some wiring and some pinching. It was repotted about 1 1/2 months ago. It is about 12 inches tall. For the future, I plan to keep the shape that the tree is in now. I will add a bit more shari and keep the foliage in check while the trunk thickens over the next few years, few decades etc..:D

Nice looking tree, october. Do you happen to have any pics before you cleaned it up some?

Hello and thank you evmibo.. Actually, here is the 2 1/2 year progression.

Pic 1 is the tree upon purchase
Pic 2 is the tree after the first styling and put into an over sized bonsai pot for the tree to recover.
Pic 3 is the tree a season after. It is growing very well, but there are problems. There are too many branches and the tree's apex is just "too perfect" The tree was not as structured as I wanted, so I went back to basics.
Pic 4 The tree was drastically reduced last season and now has the proper structure. At this point, it was still in the grow pot.
Pic 5 is where we are today. The tree grew quite a bit over the last month and a half. Unfortunately, I did not take a pic this weekend before the cleanup.

Hello Jessf.. Thanks you and about 2 1/2 years

Rob

I agree, nice work. Also, a very short time to achieve it. A testement to the benefit of starting with quality material. Again, good eye and great tree. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hot Acton... Yes, it's all in the material you start with. I usually like starting with something that will look good in 3-5 years. :D
