I wonder if I can recreate this tree with a BC. Swamp dragon appears doable.

Wow the level of facial detail is really astounding. It’s even got visible cheeks!
 
Neat and a possible inspiration. I have a Ficus of all things that could be taken in this direction. I'll have to look at it again.

Trail marker trees, trees bend by indigenous peoples before European disruption, are common along the DesPlaines river drainage in the suburban Chicago area. There might be a few left along the North Branch of the Chicago River too. The bike trails go past them. Worth exploring if you live in that area.
