Flat top japanese cypress

Does anyone have experience in collecting flat top Japanese Cypress just like blad cypress? I found good size trunk trees growing out there.

Just collected, original height was 3 meters, had it cut more than 1/3 of the original trunk height with fine roots attached. Since it is totally diffrent kind from the bald cypress, I wonder if it would survive :-(

Did you put cut paste on your chop? If not, you should, your cypress looks like it is leaking. The only thing to do now is wait for new growth. Hopefully it will!

The orange stain is the paste. I hope I can see some growth by autumn....

Good! Cross our fingers. I have a montezuma cypress that I cut back just like that. Worried about having killed it until it started sprouting new growth. Looks great now.
