Great trees.... did they live?

i recently saw an interesting video on collecting yamadori. they found some great trees, but they seem to bare root almost all of them


doess any know more about this video? did these trees live? or do they have some special technique to keep bare rooted conifers alive after collection?

Probably too soon to know. Trees would be dormant now.

I'm sure @BenBSeattle could chime in on how they are doing.

he replied to me in private message that he kept them in a green house where they are automatically misted several times a day, and most are doing well

Here's a video @BenBSeattle made about a visit to Tom Vuoung - one of Southern California's best-known yamadori collectors:


And here is a different video on Tom Vuoung where Tom specifically talks about collection after-care (the entire video is great and there are a lot of collecting tips throughout, but he starts talking specifically about aftercare at around 11:00)


As you can see in the videos, Tom is always smiling :) He is one of the happiest bonsai people I have ever met :)
