Is this it? Is this what y'all are looking for? Yes, it most certainly is horticulural grade pumice!

$35/cuyd, that's half a yard in the back of my Exploder. I'm having 5yds delivered as soon as I prep a landing. If I dry it and grade it out to your spec, so there's no waste on your end, I think I can get it to you at a very reasonable rate.

Down at Chets I can get five 1qt. bags for $25, same as I paid for this 1/2yd, what a pant load! And it was crappy stuff and this all premium, chunky and hard.

Talk it over and let's see if we can get this stuff out to you folks. I'm not looking for profit or to become the Pumice King or anything like that. I got it, you want it, lets put it together! Rick

Looks good! I am interested.

If you can, please get the weight of a cu. foot (actual) so we can check best mailing option. Freight cost is the usual deal killer on these. Thanks!

What I want to do is spread it out to dry it. Then screen it, unless you want as is, and weigh it up. I'll get on it and get back.
When you
are starting at around $5/qt bag it's not the shipping that's killing the deal. I can likely get initial cost about $.50/qt, how many qts in a yd.? Eight five gallon bucks=1/4yd@$35per yd. There's your equation, I'll need paper and pen for this one.
Works out to about $.05/qt if I did my math right, been awhile since I did figgerin'.

Dry would be better (lighter to ship). I am not in a hurry. :)

As is straight out of the tub, wet and fines included I hit 24lb/cuft. Sifted and dried we can get the weight down a lot.

I sifted out some with a 1/4" mesh and took out all the big chunks. Then I sifted that through a 1/8" mesh and took out all the fines. So in size 1/8"=1/4" a cubic foot is about 20lbs (still a bit damp) and that would cost $32 UPS.

I don't know about you, but to me that's a bite to get a cubic foot of material, and I have not added a penny for all my hard labor.

This nickel and dime thing is killing it. We need to get some size in it, move a container or train car full and we can get a better deal, both on the stone and the shipping. I may be able to go right to the mine and have it shipped from there. If I can put it down there and you can distribute we'll both get rich HAHAHAHAHA! Maybe some other rock, but I doubt anybody is getting rich pushing pumice LOL.

I may have another offer for you to consider. I would sorely like to have a Baby Dragon Shantung Maple from Keith over at MetroMaples, but he doesn't ship. You following so far? Trade for equal value? Whatever the tree and shipping cost I'll return to you in pumice, however you want, sifted or no. The fines are great for cuttings. I don't know the price on the Baby Dragon, so I could be barking up the wrong tree (pun intended) or I can cover the difference.

Hey man, I hope it works out for you... But I have not found a better deal than this one-

I was hesitant to share, out of fear he might sell out before I need to buy again, but it looks like they have TONAGE.... Just to give you an idea of the kinds of deals already out there... This guy is selling 3.5 gallons for $7, shipping was only like $15... $22 out the door for a PILE of this stuff. I know you could probably get it cheaper by the pallet, but I don't need that much of it!

He shipped it in what I think is the largest flat rate shipping box ( the largest of the thin rectangular ones any way... I think they min have a few really big ones as well..). It came in super fast, it is pre- screened and when you ship flat rate, weight doesn't matter so you don't have to worry about letting it dry for days/ weeks to get the weight down. I haven't even found a grain of dirt/ sand in the stuff I bought and sifting fines years me almost nothing, so it was sifted really well! Some of the chunks are a little on the large side, but most are perfect for a medium sized bonsai mix and the large pieces you can separate to make drainage layers.

Thanks Eric, I'll have to look into the flat rate shipping. Like I said, $5.00 a qt at the store and I figured in at $.05/qt buying the whole yd. works out to about $.60 for 3gal my cost. My little sieve took awhile, but with a good size shaker box I could move through a yard in no time. Twenty bucks for 3gal is not a bad deal at all, I can compete and maybe make a little beer money.

USPS flat rate game boxes are the most economical its about 17 bucks to ship a akadama sized bag.

Rick - I could use some pumice. I could also use some black lava rock if you know where to pick some up. I'll give you a call. Maybe we can meet up tomorrow or Saturday. I'm curious to see what you have going on!

I would be interested in a decent amount of it. Thanks for doing this. :)

Well hey man, I got no loyalties in this except to my own wallet! If you can sell it cheaper than this guy, let us know the deal and I will order from you next time I need some!

Alright! Fish on! Someone help me reel this guy in. LOL Hey, but really, there's plenty of folks out there to make money on, but for a fellow B-Nutter there's always the special price. Gauranteed never more than twice what the other guys are paying. Dammit! Joking again.

Seriuosly though. I'm sure I can beat any price for my B-Nut buddies. I'm not looking to start another business and I'll likely only do this for my friends here, a small favor in return for all the help and inspiration I've recieved. HMU

I am only interested in pallet / super sack quantities if you have a lead...

Hi Jim, I am chasing down some leads for bulk transport. It is here, but not in bagged form like 3cuft or so. I'm looking into train car load to a depot in Tx.. It would be mill run, ungraded material, everything from sandy particules to 1/2" chunks fresh from the mine. The mine is closed down, but they still like monet and willing to turn a deal if we can figure the logistics of putting a carload of pumice in Texas. At least thats the word from a friend of a friend who knows someone who used to work at the mine, but that's the lead and I'll run er into the ground and see where it goes.

I may need to range a bit north into the farming area and have better luck on bagged material. I'll keep on it and find it. It's here just not alot of production, bigger fish to fry.

Ok folks, here the deal on the pumice. $20/3gal. mill run. For my B-nut friends I'll sift it if you want a size only. Pm me here for details and we'll get it on it's way. Thank you for your interest and helping us get this thing rolling.
